“……..the orchestra has far more potential for expressive power. When I hear a great rock band it can make me feel alive, but when I hear a great orchestra it can make me feel human.”
~Glenn Branca
The first big concert I did in New York City was Kurt and Kenya in Their Own Words. Presented by the American Musicals Project, the event was hosted by Isabella Rossellini and also featured Broadway stars Leah Hocking, Jeffry Denman and John Jellison. While playing characters on stage is thrilling and challenging, so is sharing your own personality with different audiences and celebrating artists and composers you admire. From Kurt Weill to Elvis Presley, to Cole Porter, to Carole King, to George Gershwin, to Tina Turner, every concert I have done has allowed me to become a better artist.
In 2019, I debuted my solo show First You Dream in Hawaii. Ranging from opera, to Broadway standards, to pop and R&B, this 90 minutes show traces my musical influences and life as a performer.
